The centuries old history of the Azienda Agricola Concadoro dates back to the 17th and 18th centuries when it was first used to give overnight accommodation to the shepherds in transit from Maremma to the Casentino area. In those days the farm was called Le Capraie as the shepherds paid for their overnight accommodation with milk from their goats. Therefore, apart from the production of wine, oil and cereals, the first cheeses were produced. In 1878 the sumptuous Villa Iolanda was constructed and subsequently united with some of the surrounding smallholdings in order to guarantee a better service to people passing by. In 1961 the farm was purchased by Luigi Cerasi from Rome.

Ever since then, the farm is known as Azienda Agricola Concadoro.
The Azienda is situated about 7 kilometers away from the town of Castellina in the heart of the Chianti Classico wine production area.
The vineyards are farmed according to traditional methods and with the use of natural composts alone to insure a “Biological Production” which is guaranteed and controlled by the ICEA. The vine harvest is also carried out according to the ancient methods and the farming methods are typical of those used in Tuscany. Maturing takes place in seasoned oak barrels that give the wine it’s unique bouquet. The same methods are implemented with the olive picking. They are picked manually by locals and the process is carried out scrupulously cold pressed in the oil mill.
